The oil yield is considered one of the key standards for evaluating the performance of peanut oil processing equipment. The quality, performance, processing technology, and operational norms of the equipment can directly or indirectly affect the oil yield of peanut oil.

Factors Affecting Peanut Oil Yield:

1. Quality and Performance of Equipment

High-quality, high-performance, and well-configured peanut oil processing equipment can fully press peanuts, reduce oil loss, and thus obtain more peanut oil, improving the oil yield. Manufacturers are continuously upgrading the press chamber of oil presses, significantly enhancing pressing efficiency and oil yield.

2. Processing Technology:

Shelling, Cooking, Pre-pressing, and Extraction

Besides the quality and performance of the equipment, operations such as shelling, steaming, and frying peanuts before pressing can significantly improve the oil yield.

•  Shelling: The oil in peanuts is mainly concentrated in the kernels, with very little in the shells. Pressing peanuts with shells not only yields less oil but also causes the shells to absorb oil, reducing the oil yield. Shelling helps increase the oil yield and the reasonable production capacity of the equipment.

•  Cooking: "Three parts pressing, seven parts frying" indicates that steaming and frying peanuts before pressing is a major method to improve oil yield. Steaming and frying break down the internal cells of peanuts, denature proteins, gather oil, and reduce oil viscosity and surface tension, allowing more oil to be extracted.

•  Pre-pressing and Extraction: Peanuts are high-oil crops, and after a single pressing, the residual oil rate in the cake is high. Using the pre-pressing extraction method, the residual oil in the pre-pressed cake can be extracted through solvent soaking. Thus, after shelling, steaming, frying, and pre-pressing extraction, the oil yield of peanuts is improved.

3. Standardized Operation of Equipment

Regularly cleaning the oil seams of the press bars and rings, reasonably controlling the feeding speed, timely adjusting the feeding amount, and increasing the temperature inside the press chamber can create good pressing conditions, ensuring normal oil output while maintaining a high oil yield of peanut oil.
