During the receipt, transportation, and storage of oil materials, impurities can mix in. Oil materials containing impurities cannot meet the requirements for oil production. Therefore, after entering the production workshop, the oil materials need further cleaning to reduce the impurity content to within the process requirements, ensuring the effectiveness of the oil production process and product quality.

Impurities in oil materials can be roughly divided into three categories: organic impurities, inorganic impurities, and oil-containing impurities. Inorganic impurities mainly include dust, sand, stones, and metals; organic impurities mainly include stems, leaves, husks, weeds, hemp ropes, and grains; oil-containing impurities mainly include moldy grains, pest-damaged grains, imperfect grains, and different types of oil seeds.

Impact of Impurities:

Oil Yield: 

Impurities do not produce oil and can absorb oil, reducing yield and increasing loss.

Product Quality: 

Impurities can deepen the color of the oil, increase sediment, produce odors, and reduce the quality of crude oil and by-products.

Equipment Wear:

Hard impurities can accelerate wear and damage to equipment, shortening its lifespan and potentially causing accidents.

Operational Issues: 

Long-fiber impurities can wrap around rotating shafts or block equipment inlets and outlets, causing production disruptions and equipment failures. Dust can cause environmental pollution in the workshop.

Cleaning Methods and Equipment:

1. Drum Magnetic Separator: 

Uses magnets to remove metal impurities. It consists of a feed hopper, rotating drum, magnetic core, and discharge device. The magnetic core attracts metal impurities, which are then discharged separately.

2. Planar Rotary Screen: 

Utilizes the difference in particle size between oil materials and impurities. The screen surface performs a planar rotary motion, allowing smaller particles to pass through while larger particles are discharged.

3. Gravity Destoner:

 Uses the difference in specific gravity and suspension speed between oil seeds and stones. The inclined screen surface and airflow separate stones from oil seeds.

4. Air Separator: 

Uses wind to separate impurities based on differences in specific gravity and aerodynamic properties. It can remove light impurities like dust and heavy impurities like metals and stones.
