On August 29, 2024, the 100T/D soybean oil refining project designed and manufactured by Henan Huatai Intelligent Equipment Group was officially launched and shipped to Dalian, Liaoning.

Soybean oil is one of the four major edible oils in the world and the main edible oil for people in northern China. Soybean oil is extracted from soybeans, and the common extraction processes are pressing and solvent extraction. Most of the soybean oil we see on the market is produced using the solvent extraction process. This is because soybeans have a low oil content, and while the pressing process yields high-quality crude oil, it leaves some residual oil, affecting the yield. However, using the solvent extraction process to extract soybean oil can fully extract the oil from soybeans, increase the oil yield, and obtain high-quality soybean meal, which can be used in the food and feed industries, creating revenue for oil mills. Therefore, most of the soybean oil on the market is solvent-extracted soybean oil.

The roles of refining equipment in production are as follows:

1. Refining and Removing Impurities: 

Although the crude soybean oil obtained through solvent extraction has undergone desolventizing treatment, there may still be slight solvent residues. Additionally, mechanical impurities produced during production and inherent substances in the oil, such as phospholipids, free fatty acids, and residual contaminants, need to be removed through refining equipment to improve quality.

2. Changing Color: 

The grade of soybean oil requires specific oil color standards. Crude soybean oil needs to undergo decolorization refining to remove pigments and change the color of the soybean oil, resulting in clear, standard-compliant soybean oil.

3. Removing Odor:

Many consumers cannot accept the beany smell of soybean oil, and the burnt or clay taste formed during production affects the flavor of edible oil. Therefore, deodorization refining is necessary to remove these "off-flavors" and make the soybean oil acceptable to the general consumer.

The launch of this 100T/D soybean oil refining project sets a new benchmark for the grain and oil machinery industry. With its excellent quality, innovative technology, and efficient operation, it will lead the soybean oil industry to new heights.
